Chapter 6 Release!
IMPORTANT: OLD SAVE FILES WILL NOT WORK WITH THIS UPDATE!
New Content
- New Intro Sequence
- The introduction to the game has been overhauled and now features the intro scene from the game's demo.
- Equipment Overhaul
- 213 Weapons, 288 Armors, and 56 Off-Hands have been added, though many of them are not available in the game yet as they will be made available in future content updates.
- New acquisition methods: instead of strictly crafting your gear, you now can obtain it from monsters or chests.
- Progression Overhaul
- Level caps introduced: Starts at level 10, and increases by 10 once you reach a new town and trigger its introductory cutscene. This change is probably undesired, but it was always intended to be this way from the start and I just hadn't figured out a good way of implementing it.
- Main Menu Overhaul
- Gauge colors have been modified, as well as basic parameters being visible on the main menu.
- NPC Overhaul
- Most of the NPCs (and the player) that were using default battlers/sprites have been given their own battler/sprite. There are still a couple NPCs that use default assets, and this likely will not change; however they are minor characters that play a small role in the story so this probably won't be that big of a deal.
- Class Passives
- All classes starting with the ones you purchase in Lanox will now have passives that will always be in effect. Some classes can even have more than one!
- State Tooltips
- Mousing over an enemy or ally that is inflicted with a status condition will now tell you what it does. It even works for the aforementioned class passives.
- Reworked Enemy AI
- The enemies will now (probably) make better choices in combat and will alter their choice of attack based on how the battle is going. They will deprioritize physical attacks on characters with high physical defense, and magical attacks on characters with high resistance. They will also deprioritize elemental attacks if you resist that element, status attacks that do no direct damage if you already have all the conditions it can apply, and buffs (on themselves) if they already have all the buffs it gives. This will hopefully allow the battles to feel more like what enemies should actually be doing instead of just randomly selecting without taking other battle conditions into account.

- 31 new Skills and Spells
- 18 new common enemies
- 4 new elite enemies
- 2 new minibosses
- 5 new story bosses
- 1 new superboss post-story
- 2 new dragons to fight in the Dragon's Den
- 42 new encounters
- ~30 new soundtracks
